FRIENDS OF BRAZIL,
“Lavagem Expo ” which officially opens the festivities of “Brazilian
Week” in New York.
This year our Lavagem Expo 2012 runs from Aug. 27th to Sept. 1st and
will be held at a venue to be announced at a later date.
For its 4th consecutive year correlated with the Lavagem of 46
street, our Brazilian Cultural Parade and Festival are the producers
of the annual Lavagem Expo from August 27 to September 1 in New
York, which officially opens the Brazil Week. In the past years the
Lavagem Expo had given opportunities to various Brazilian artists to
exhibit their various works, such as photography, fine arts, poetry,
theater, fashion, music and dance presentations.
Throughout the years we featured world renowned Brazilian Artists
and renowned photographers such as Chester Higgins Jr. (New York
Times), Luiz Ribeiro (New York Post) and Ricardo Pimentel (Folha de
Sao Paulo).
The
work of the Brazilian fine arts painter Galina, who displayed her
manifestation of diverse culture, Edgar Souza with his photographic
documentary of "Bembe do Mercado" and Bel Borba the famous Baiano
artist who presented his exposition of “Expressao” which shows
plastic art and tapestry.
The “Lavagem Expo” experience, creates an exciting opportunity for
sponsors, on a lighter side, poetry, Brazilian history, fashion,
music and dance workshops is also part of the experience.

promoting Brazilian culture in an objective way, will leave its mark
on the multicultural audience.
